Environmental Water Treatment Overview
WUN0109
Course Number: WUN0109
Type of Course: Training
Length of Course: 3 hours
PDH or CEU: 2.75 PDH
Cost of Course: $95.00 per Learner

Description:
Environmental Water Treatment (EWT) is a category of treatment approaches used for stormwater, wastewater, process water, groundwater and dewatering projects. EWT approaches include ATS (active treatment systems) and PTS (passive treatment systems).
This course provides a high-level overview of the EWT industry and discusses flocculants, filter media, equipment, design, and cost considerations for the implementation of EWT technologies.
This course provides an overview of the technologies available and components of implementation in the field.
NOTE: This course does not cover the specific requirements for design or operation of EWT systems or flocculant use requirements by the EPA or other state agencies.
This Course Also Includes:
Access to the following Communities:
- EWT Community
- Industrial Stormwater Community
- Construction Stormwater Community
What You Will Learn/Learning Objectives:
- An overview of EWT technologies
- Discussion on chemistry, media, and flocculants
- Identification of pieces of equipment to consider
- Basic design principles
- EWT operation considerations
- Cost considerations for implementing EWT systems
Prerequisites: Need to have a strong background in NPDES terms and language.
Who Will Benefit from this Training:
- Those wanting to learn more about advanced treatment operations
- Regulators that want a better understanding of EWT
- Engineers and designers considering the implementation of advanced treatment
- End users that need a better understanding of footprint requirements, operational considerations, and cost
